In June 2019, I was lucky enough to go on a cruise to commemorate 75 years since the Normandy landings.
On board were veterans of all ages, including 1 marine who had landed on D-day itself and 2 men who had seen service in France after the invasion. All 3 were in their 90s.
As well as attending a ceremony at sea whilst cruising off of the Normandy beaches, I also had the chance to visit several sites of significance from the 1st and 2nd World Wars.
